Ms. Sherry H. Senter

Education Resource Consultant

Sherry Holland-Senter, holds an Advanced Professional Certification in Education. She earned a Masters degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in Urban Education and Teaching, and a Bachelors Degree from Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in Psychology.

As an educator, Mrs. Holland-Senter has recognized youth and family development as an achievement strategy. She has introduced innovative research based programs to elementary children that include Preventative Mental and Physical Health Awareness, Fine Arts and Cultural Awareness programs. She has coordinated with school police and community organizations to develop and implement Anger Management and conflict Resolution training for teachers, children, and parents. As a consultant to the Maryland Children’s Oral Health Institute, she has identified resources that advance preventative oral health care for elementary children in Baltimore and our nation.

Recognizing Fine Arts as a unique tool to stimulate and enrich learning, Mrs. Holland-Senter has implemented art education and literary programs for children by building solid partnerships with Baltimore’s Creative Alliance of Art and the Enoch Pratt Free Library, as well as the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Baltimore Opera Society.

Her work includes partnering with city and state elected officials, as they relate to public policy impacting education, mental and physical health issues, and providing proactive consultation for specific bills in the Maryland General Assembly and the US Congress.
She promotes democracy by providing voter registration drives and training for the school and community.

Mrs. Holland- Senter, believes in a comprehensive and holistic approach toward the empowerment of young children and families. She has applied and created innovative solutions in response to the underpinnings of poverty at the school and community level.

Currently, Mrs. Holland-Senter is a member of the National Alliance of Black School Educators, American Federation of Teachers - Delegate 2006, and Board Member and Consultant to the Maryland Children’s Oral Health Institute.
