Ms. Khaleila IwuohaKhaleila Iwuoha was born and raised in Maryland. She attended Long Reach High School in Columbia, MD where she was a member of the indoor/outdoor track and field team, National Honor Society, and Black Student Union. She was also an avid volunteer for Habitat for Humanity while attending high school. Khaleila is a recent graduate from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public and Community Health. Throughout her time at the University of Maryland, she was an active member of both the Black Student Association and National Society of Collegiate Scholars and co-president of the UMCP Chapter of the LiveNow Campaign Organization, a youth-based HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness organization. She also volunteered at the House of Ruth, a domestic violence shelter located in Baltimore, MD. Khaleila started working as an intern with The Maryland Children’s Oral Health Institute in 2010, and was later hired as a full time executive assistant. Khaleila is passionate about the health and wellbeing of children in her community, especially with issues involving oral health. She is currently applying to dental schools and aspires to become a pediatric dentist. Khaleila currently lives in Baltimore, MD and enjoys shopping, traveling, jogging and spending time with her younger siblings in her free time. |
